Good phone photos usually begin with good light. Before taking the picture, turn your subject toward a window or move into open shade. Soft light makes faces, food, pets, and everyday objects look clearer without extra equipment.

Watch for strong light directly behind your subject. Your phone may brighten the background and leave the important part of the photo too dark.
